Costs applicable to property owner in Renting a property
The table below describes property costs , government charges and brokerage.


Before Registration of Leave And License Agreement

Stamp duty Calculation

Monthly rental x no. of months = A
Advance rent for the period = B
10% of Refundable Deposit x no of years of the agreement = C
Total taxable amount D = A+B+C
Stamp Duty E = 0.25% x D.
To be paid in equal share by Property Owner and Tenant.
To be paid before execution of document.

Registration Fee

Rs.1,000/-
To be paid before execution of document.
To be paid in equal share by Property Owner and Tenant.

Before Possession

Society Shifting Charges

To be paid by Tenant as per the charges applicable by society.

Society Non Occupancy Charges

Not more than 10% of the monthly society maintenance bill.
To be paid by Property Owner

When the possession is received by Tenant

Brokerage
Charges

Equal to 1 month rent + GST at rates prevailing.
To be paid in accordance with property transaction regulations on receipt of possession from the Property Owner

On Renewal of Agreement with same Tenant

Brokerage Charges

Equal to 15 days Rent amount + GST at rates prevailing.
To be paid in accordance with property transaction regulations on completion of registration, police and society formalities.

18 % GST is applicable on all the above brokerages, w.e.f. 01-07-2017.
